Il Bookcrossing (dai termini book e crossing, "incrociare un libro") è un’iniziativa, largamente diffusa all’estero, che ha come obiettivo principale la condivisione dei libri basata su tre semplici principi: la passione per la lettura, la disponibilità alla condivisione della cultura, la libertà di iniziativa. Chiunque può partecipare, "liberando" un libro in un certo luogo (sul tram, su una panchina, in un’aula universitaria) così che venga così ritrovato e raccolto da un’altra persona.
L’idea di base del bookcrossing è molto semplice: se sei innamorato di un libro non ti piacerebbe farlo leggere a più gente possibile?
Da qui l'idea: perchè non dare via al fenomeno anche a Settimo Torinese? Così, sostenuto dal programma Gioventù in Azione e appoggiato dal Comune di Settimo Torinese, il gruppo di giovani "Zona a traffico illimitato" ha messo in cantiere il progetto "Libri in libertà"...
